Overwatch doesn't do storytelling in the traditional sense. The game has no campaign mode, but the origins and history of the heroes featured have been slowly revealed via comics, trailers and animated shorts. The Tracer Origin Story short was first shown at BlizzCon 2014 and gave fans their first taste of the game's unique way of spinning a y
Most conversations about incoming patches have to do with how it's going to change the meta. Ana's getting nerfed and Reinhardt is a must-pick, always. Even the professional e-sports teams start to look the same in their lineups. This is why some fans have been arguing to legitimize a narrow but popular niche community within Overwatch : The 3v3 players. Currently, 3v3 is in the Arcade and only has one map, but with any combination of three heroes to choose from there are countless possibilities for a quick win or a long drawn out battle. It's arguably more dynamic, which is why many 3v3 players want to see a competitive mode made, and more attention given to this game mode. Without knowing your opponents' hero selections, it becomes more about teamwork and how your team's heroes can compliment each other. Oh, and of course it's also about who can melt the most fa
As spoiled as Overwatch fans may be, there are a few legitimate concerns and complaints that have resonated throughout the community, and many fans hope the Overwatch team continues to deliver by addressing these issues in the coming year. This list won't be too concerned with 'nerfing Symmetra' or 'buffing Winston' as Overwatch is really good about making slight adjustments to their characters over time, and measuring their overall performance, but will instead focus on elements of the game that players either simply want more of or have found to be troubling for some time now. These are 18 Changes Overwatch Fans Want In 20
Skill ratings below 500 will no longer be displayed.
Developer Comments: Factnew.Com We’ve noticed that some players have been deliberately throwing their matches in an effort to reach the lowest attainable skill rating. We obviously don’t want to incentivize this behavior, because Competitive Play works best when everybody is try
Bastion takes 35% less damage while in Configuration: Sentry or Tank
Developer Comments: The goal of these changes is to move some of Bastion's power from Configuration: Sentry to Recon, while keeping its sentry mode a strong option, especially versus tanks and barriers. Overall, Bastion should feel stronger and more flexible with these chan
Rockstar did promise a (virtual) $500,000 stimulus package as an apology for the game's technical issues but given that players had been waiting almost a month for GTA Online to get it together, not everyone was willing to let the company off the h
So, maybe January wasn't as high profile of a month as last year. That's fine. February will more than make up for it. With the PlayStation Vita launching later in the month, as well as many anticipated triple-A games, there should be plenty to appease gamers of all types. Here, we'll detail what we plan to play throughout Febru
Star Wars: The Old Republic is at the top of my list (and will continue to be for some time) but now that I've finally taken the plunge into picking up a legitimate gaming PC, there's a good chance I'll try my hand at Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 to see what all the graphical buzz was about. SSX will absolutely be seeing some of my time after the science behind the game left me stunned, and the impending release of the Mass Effect 3 demo means putting off all that Mass Effect 2 DLC just won't do. Shepard, here I c
On the non-Vita side of things I'm looking forward to experiencing Resident Evil: Revelations in earnest, after the great demo hooked me in. Aside from that I'm also looking forward to checking out the first DLC for Iron Brigade/Trenched , Rise of the Martian Bear, as well as Alan Wake's American Nightmare , both downloadable follow-ups to games I enj
If you talk to players who queue up in Competitive Mode, they all agree to hate one thing: Leavers . But when you delve further into that topic, the conversation gets skewed, and people start talking about accountability. There seems to be two main camps, those that want to make it easier to rejoin a match once you've been disconnected, and those that want to increase the penalty for leaving a competitive match. The problem with leavers is that they force the remaining players to continue the match with five players versus six. Even if for a small amount of time, this can have drastic effects on the outcome of the game. So though a minority of players feel like they shouldn't be punished for disconnecting, most other players agree that maybe they shouldn't be playing Competitive Mode in the first place with a shoddy connection. In the end, it's a team game, and can seem rather unfair when a teammate lea
Much like Team Fortress 2 -- one of Blizzard's most obvious influences on the title -- Overwatch is a team-oriented game: extra emphasis on that "team-oriented" part. No matter what the skill levels are of players on the team, Blizzard's smart direction and design of Overwatch emphasizes the need for players to work together and collaborate incredibly well, and along the way makes each match feel like a learning experience when it comes down to playing as each of the game's Heroes and mastering their skills and particular ro
