Despite all the big titles set to release this month, I'm still in catch-up mode. I can't ignore the buzz anymore, so I'm planning on playing both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City this month via OnLive . And when my gaming window is tight, I'll work on making my fingers bleed courtesy of Rocksmi
Critical hit volume reduced by 15%
Developer Comments: Winston's head hit volume was just abnormally big, making him take more damage than he otherwise should. This change brings it more in line with other her
Overwatch may be an elite task force with the sole purpose of destroying killer robots, but Overwatch as a game has always had a message of inclusiveness with it's global cast of heroes. Which is why it seems a little problematic that Pharah's Raindancer and Thunderbird skins allude to the cultures of certain Native American tribes, in name and design, though she is explicitly Egyptian. She is the daughter of Ana, who is also Egyptian, and was formerly enlisted in the Egyptian Army where she held the rank of Security Officer. With so much attention given to backstory and especially to the linguistic verisimilitude of the voice actors, it's difficult to pinpoint why these skins exist. Many Native American players have called for an easy solution: Give us a Native American hero. This might actually be Overwatch 's intentions, or a brilliantly crafted retcon, because Reinhardt is not stated as Pharah's father despite his romantic history with Ana. Perhaps we will get a Native American hero when Pharah's real father is revea
If you talk to players who queue up in Competitive Mode, they all agree to hate one thing: Leavers . But when you delve further into that topic, the conversation gets skewed, and people start talking about accountability. There seems to be two main camps, those that want to make it easier to rejoin a match once you've been disconnected, and those that want to increase the penalty for leaving a competitive match. The problem with leavers is that they force the remaining players to continue the match with five players versus six. Even if for a small amount of time, this can have drastic effects on the outcome of the game. So though a minority of players feel like they shouldn't be punished for disconnecting, most other players agree that maybe they shouldn't be playing Competitive Mode in the first place with a shoddy connection. In the end, it's a team game, and can seem rather unfair when a teammate lea
My game plan for November is to play some World of Warcraft — a game that I haven't played since it originally launched. My friend convinced me to give it another try and I found a good deal on some time cards and expansions, so I figured it was worth another go. There are way too many freaking great games coming out, and I know I'm not going to have time for them all... My Games: Super Mario 3D Land , Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary , WWE 12 , and Modern Warfare
Healing boost on allies has been decreased by 50%
**Developer Comments: ** The healing boost from Ana’s Biotic Grenade was providing too much healing, especially when used on targets with large health po
You mentioned that there were classic things and animations that you were wary of changing, where do you draw that line? How do you figure out what people considered to be the classic experience and what you might need to change?
Voting started on December 24th, and ended on January 21st. Each voter was asked to give ten preferences in order, with the first FPS game skins scoring four points, second and third scoring three, ranks from four to six scoring two points, and the rest only one. Two honorable mentions were also allowed, but scored no points.
The update also brings Capture the Rooster, Overwatch's version of Capture the Flag, to Arcade as an ongoing mode. Additionally, Capture the Rooster versions of Nepal, Lijiang Tower, Ilios, and Oasis have been added, giving you 12 m
Since there are just so many games coming out this month, I think I am going to have to not only invent a time machine and keep traveling back to play them, but I'll also have to forgo sleep, eating, and writing for Game Rant. Just kidding, I really like sleep and eating. My Games: Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Saints Row: The Third, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Lord of the Rings: War in the North, and Halo Anniversa
I feel like the line is drawn extremely hard and deep when it affects gameplay. I think that for a campaign we were definitely more liberal with our animations and additions as long they enhanced the true intent of the moment. So 'Crew Expendable,' I think you've all seen that trailer we put out a few months back. The explosion cinema had to be redone. It was just one of those ones we just couldn't match up, but there was a very specific intent that IW had with that moment and they wanted that to establish the characters. Not just who you are, because you kind of knew that at that point, but who is Price? What is he to you? Who do you follow? Where do you fit in the grouping of the people there, and when you get knocked unconscious and you're kind of just rolling around a bit, we added a lot of that personal connection to the world. We're really happy about how that all turned out, because you're reaching for your fellow soldier that's there and he's checking on you. Then Price comes along and slaps you around and says 'We're leaving!' So there's this really great tension in the moment that only needed emphasis. It didn't need to be reworked, it didn't need a ton of additions unnecessarily, but we wanted to tell the story just a little bit more and we had the opportunity. We had the manpower, the resources, and we certainly had the drive to do it so that's what we wanted to focus on.
